[Solved] Avast scan of a non system ssd takes only 4 seconds!
« on: November 10, 2014, 09:35:11 PM »
Hi avast team,

I own avast internet security suite 2015 updated from 2014.
I wanted to make a scan of one of my SSD, not the system one, that holds tons of data (fsx and prepar3d), almost 250 Gb in size
For this I did a scan on selected folders
So I started the scan and it asked for the folders to scan, I gave the L: disk (that is my SSD). The scan started and 4 seconds later(!!), it was finished with no error.
So, something is going wrong here. Can you explain?
I made a repair and same behavior. Scanning a hard disk with the same tool is Ok

I have a PC running w7 x64 ultimate.

Thanks.

Patrice.

??? maybe you scanned the drive with v2014 before and Avast created the DB of the files, so now it scans only the modified files (that are really few in your case)!
You take the tarot cards and throw them to the wind!

Hi,
I have found the problem: this drive was excluded from scanning in parameters. It works no if I remove the exclusion
