X-Header, Why?
« on: September 14, 2005, 07:55:26 PM »
Hello,

I've started using avast home. Now I saw new X-Header in my Postings. My first thought was, this is not fine. No one should no, what sort of antivirus i use.  So how can I remove this function, or stop display it:

X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS xxx-x, xx.09.xxxx), Outbound message
X-Antivirus-Status: Clean

Why not?

Well, I don't know... maybe someone from Alwil should say something and teach us.
As far I know, it's not possible.

Disable "insert note......." in the mail provider.
In the header? I think this is not the case.
The problem is not the note added at the end of message body but it the headers.

Disable "insert note......." in the mail provider.

It's a newsreader. There is no function, to disable "insert note....."

As I've said, it's not a problem of the inserted note.
You can disable avast! scanning of News but, as far I know, you can't remove the headers.
Other antivirus do the same...

Yes there is a way Tech. In the mail provider you can (un)check "insert message to clean..." in the nntp server part.

Sorry Eddy. You're right.
I thought the user was talking about email headers and not News being posted  :-[
