Avast Web/Mail Root Certificate messes up https

So I was surfing fine until I updated Avast Internet Security to 10.0.2208. When I try to use Google Chrome, it reports that the SSL encryption cannot happen due to interception. After some digging, it appears that the certificate intercepted feedly's cert. It's not limited to that however. Even this site is affected. However, IE is not affected. Why is that?
