Avast Updating Twice
« on: November 17, 2014, 02:06:31 AM »
I recently got a new Dell with Windows 7. I mostly use my old Vista machine just because I have so much more on it and have a lot of emails saved, etc and just use it more. However. if I've used the new W7 computer two days ago, shut it down and go back to it avast updates virus definitions and lets you know in a little popup box but then about two minutes later it does it again with a different definition update. It does this every time I don't use it for a couple of days.

Any ideas why because if I don't use Vista for a few days it updates definitions once and that's it...not twice.

That means you are using a old version of avast. In the latest version the sound and pop-ups are disabled by avast.
