IE & Google Chrome certificate validation fail with avast HTTPS scanning

Today I've noticed that with HTTPS scanning from avast! enabled, all HTTPS certs from IE and by extension Chrome (since Chrome uses IE HTTPS certs) are no longer being considered valid so every HTTPS site is coming up as insecure. Example screenshots below:

What os/sp?
