Avast incorrectly deleting GW2.exe
« on: November 24, 2014, 06:17:14 AM »
So there's a report on the Guild Wars 2 forum of avast suddenly deleting GW2.exe which is the execution file for Guild Wars 2 PC game.

This all happened about 30 minutes ago and I'm one of the affected people -- the thread there so far has roughly about a dozen complaints with many such as my brother who hasn't posted.

I'm not the best when it comes to tech knowhow, but shouldn't the file be quarantined first before automatically deleting it without owner consent?

yah, what the heck.

Windows 7/SP1
2015.10.0.2208

and..i don't know what vps is.

also note that even though these are my specs, there are many others on the gw2 reddit and official gw2 forums who have experienced this tonight with a variety of specs.
