Avast Mobile not catching Android/Chrome redirects to ad sites

I am just opening this thread to get any further inputs on an issue that I'm facing with Chrome browser (v38) on my Android phone (4.2.1) and tablet (4.4.2).  The issue is as below:

When I visit any URL, after about 5-10 seconds after the page loads, it gets automatically redirected to http://adfoc.us/ on my phone and to Spaces.slimspotsdotcom both of which seems to be ad serving sites. Pressing the back button closes the tab.  I tried Avast scans of all apps and storage on my phone hoping to catch any {ad,mal}ware, but without any luck. I was expecting that Avast would catch this.
