Google Chrome issues with Premium 2015
« on: November 25, 2014, 12:17:36 PM »
I've been having several issues with Premium 2015 and will post New Topics for each.

The first one is loading Google Chrome and Gmail
Google Chrome slow to load with high CPU usage and then gmail hangs when adding image, archiving, etc.
Google and Gmail work fine in FF

Google Chrome version Version 39.0.2171.65 m

Steps I've taken to resolve:
checked with Chrome:conflicts in url and no conflicts detected
All programs, apps, etc. up to date
McAfee Security Scan shows no threats
added google URL to Exclusions but didn't help
updated Prem program thru Avast systray icon to xxx2208
uninstalled Browser Protection thru Control Panel but didn't help hang at google launch so reinstalled
yes, I restarted computer after each tweak

Specs:
Win7 SP1
Avast Premier 2015 xxx2208
LastPass

Any ideas? I just purchased my new subscription so really want this fixed.
Thanks!

Since this post, I've been using Firefox without issues. I just tried using Google Chrome and still have these major problems. The avast systray icon spins alot, but not sure what's it's busy doing.

Surely others have had this problem and found a solution. I need Chrome to access foreign language pages.

Thanks for any advice!

I've not found a good webpage translator in firefox, but if you know of one, please let me know. Primarily I'm needing to access historical records in Germany, France and Switzerland.

Thanks for the check up guide, which I'm doing now. And if problems, will post log at the link you provided.

thanks again!

Check out the extension Google Translator for Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-translator-for-firefox/.  It does a fair job.
