A lot of firefox crashes since Avast2015 upgrade
« on: November 30, 2014, 02:41:42 PM »
hello,

Since I have upgraded avast to 2015 , I have 1 or 2 firefox crashes per day.

I have seen it could be done by https scan , and want to disable it as purposed.

But in web shield main settings  , I can't see this option.

Is it normal ? have I to do something ? clear install ?

Thanks

I'm not having any issues with v2015 and Firefox.

But...GUI>Settings>Active Protection>Web Shield>click on "Customize">untick "enable HTTPS scanning".
Dell Inspiron, Win10x64--HP Envy Win10x64--Both systems Avast Free v17.9.2322, Comodo Firewall v8.2 w/D+, MalwareBytes v3.0, OpenDNS, Super Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, MCShield, Unchecky, Vivaldi Browser and, various browser security tools.

It's what I wanted to to , but "enable HTTPS scanning" doesn't appear . Look at my (french) GUI screen.

Edit: AVAST2015 is on 3 pc (2 x WXP + 1 W7) , "enable HTTPS scanning" appears only with W7 one

HTTPS scanning is not available in either XP or Vista. Only Win7 and newer.

Before doing a clean install try a repair. If a repair doesn't work then do a clean install.

XP...Control Panel>Programs and Features>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot.
Win7...Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot.
