Scheduled Scan can't be scheduled in 2015
« on: December 01, 2014, 09:22:38 AM »
Bizarre, but true.   Version 2015.10.0.2208.  Says this is the current version.

Scan--Scan For Virus--Settings--Give a name for scan--Scan all files checked--Scheduling "Schedule this Scan" checked--Daily, various days checked and 02:00 scan time.  Nothing appears.  It won't take to scheduling a scan.

Note: under Scan for Virus the drop down box only has "boot-time scan" as an option.  Nothing else shows.  I checked Avast on another computer and clicking on the drop down box has several different options including full scan and quick scan.  So clearly there is something wrong with my installed version.

Repair Avast:
1. Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Avast
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

Repair did not work.  After reboot, I still only have "boot time scan" as an option under Scan and trying to set up a scheduled scan will not work.

 Version 2015.10.0.2208.  Windows 7 64 bit.  fully updated.  None.  I used Avast for last 4 years or more.  Problem may date back only to Avast 2015 or Avast 2015 SP1.  Going to try uninstall and reinstall.

Did a control panel uninstall, then downloaded Avast Free again and installed.  So far no problems.
