Is NTFS supported by home version
« on: November 02, 2003, 06:21:30 PM »
I've been using the home (free) version of Avast for a while without problems. I decided to upgrade to XP Pro and change the file system to NTFS and now Avast doesn't work - I get a popup suggesting I'd like to buy the pro version.  Is Avast assuming NTFS = Profitable PC use?  (I wish!)

No, it's just that converting your drive to NTFS somehow screwed your license (this may sound strange but it's the truth).

All you need to do is run avast from the desktop icon (or from Start menu, if you prefere) and re-insert the license key when asked. That's it.

Sorry for this inconvenience... :)

Wow, now that's a quick reply!! Thanks for the info - in fact I decided to do a reinstall and everything's now fine. Thanks again!

Can you post why this happens?  8)
