My windows 7 computer showed 1 important update ready to be installed this morning and it was the upgrade to windows 10. I don't want to upgrade on that computer so I hid the update.
How did you hide it Better take a look here:

Well, Avast isn't only software company to PUSH a reboot and install.........grand old Microsoft too.
Two out of large group of W7 PCs was rebooted overnight with congrats on new 10 install.
This can happen with all the tweaking around of MS putting "recommended" and "optional" W10 items and if you have auto install selected you can get bit by the upgrade bug.
I know you can revert but what saved our bacon is to just not accept the EULA and it backs out to W7 right then.
So, did a little searching and found this excellent util that kills the ability for W10 upgrade.
https://www.grc.com/never10.htm I'm not saying there are not machines you should not upgrade to W10....but I prefer new machines with clean W10 installs.
Like most software changes........especially older PCs....you may spend more time getting things to work with W10 than worth the benefits of W10.
Thus, there may be like me some PCs that are going to be W7 until they die.
Anyway, wanted to post the util.
