I'm tired of waiting for the standalone installer to copy the files, running the troubleshooter and waiting for this update to install so I'm going to restart my computer and not try to install this update.

Appears to be a problem with your patience in waiting for the update to complete.
You'll probably need to fix the update settings before you will now be able to successfully install updates.
You'll find help here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=164936.msg1331620#msg1331620

The windows updates I got yesterday borked my newest win 10 computer.  I get to the sign in screen and when I try to type in my password it won't let me. I can't type anything.

After a recent MS Windows update, my Avast is down. When I point to the icon in the system tray, it still displays "You are protected". But when I open the Avast window, it just says "Avast is down" and I cannot fix it by clicking the restart button or restarting Windows.

My system is Windows 10 Home ver 1709, build 16299.125. I believe the problem happened after KB4054517.

Hi!

After being back from a 2-week holiday, I started the VPS-update manually under avast free 8.0.1497.
But instead of telling me, that I haven't RAM enough to call a certain order, it ran and installed properly. 'thumbs up'
