Sorry for this (maybe) silly question but I received a mail with a license code (2 codes) but my copy of avast (Server Edition) downloaded from web wants a license file
. Can anyone help?

The Serveredition should funktion as a 60 Day Trial. After that you have to pay for it! It is not part of the Avast Free products. It should be a file. If you bought allready, you should contact the support.

this is right. After I purchased the NetworkEdition, I got a Email with two Keys and I donĀ“t know whether I made any mistake with installing the software (I did not get a Dialog for entering a Key as discribed in the Email) or Avast did not send me the correct information (Key instead of a file).

If you right click the avast icon in the systray, then left click about avast, then left click licence, what sort of license does it say you have?

I was going to edit my last but I cannot!
Hopefully you licence should say DEMO, and look something like what is in this thread
