Avast firewall blocking website
« on: December 29, 2014, 08:40:40 AM »
Hi I have a paid copy of internet security that expires on the 2nd of Feb 2016 yet the licenses section of https://my.avast.com/en-au/#home lists me as being a free user since I use facebook to login and a license file to activate.

Anyway after this update to avast 2015 I have a website that I can no longer access. My browser acts as if i'm not connected to the internet or the website is down. All other websites seem ok. Disabled Web Shield and still blocked. Disabled all shields and site loads. Disable just avast firewall and site loads. Thing is since it's not the Web Shield blocking it adding it to Web Shield exclusions does nothing. There seems to be no way to allow specific websites for the firewall.

What website?
Make sure the link is not clickable.
What exact version of avast?
What vps version?
What os/sp?
Any other security (related) software installed (or previously) ?

dubbed-scene (dot) com
2015.10.0.2208
vps? if you mean virus definitions 141230-0
windows 8.1 fully updated
premium malwarebytes and the default windows ones like defender and firewall which I turn off since I have avast.

checked it on another PC running the same things, fully updated 8.1 with up to date free avast antivirus and free malwarebytes and site worked. Disabling my malwarebytes doesn't fix it. Only disabling the avast firewall does.

I'm a techie so I know to keep my drivers and security stuff totally updated.

low vision so the catchpa really sucks

Don't worry about the captcha, it is only there the first 3 posts.

Site is blacklisted:
http://zulu.zscaler.com/submission/show/cbe4e45d1aef455afb48f7ed92cdfb74-1419956269

Problem on the same IDS:
http://urlquery.net/report.php?id=1419956336083
http://urlquery.net/report.php?id=1419956479426

I suggest you use the contact form on the website and report it as a possible false positive to avast.

First 3 posts on forums I make are all that use CATCHPA you mean?

So in the meantime is there any way to allow the site while keeping the firewall up? I want the protection from other things just not that site.
