May I ask what problems you had with Kerio?

Other users have installed it without problem.

which version you use? 2.1.5 or 4?  ::)
I use 2.1.5 with no problem ;D
KPF4 caused some conflicts with Avast4 before, you could find more info in this thread Avast! 4 does not work with Kerio v4.0

joanlui,

If you were using Kerio 4.0, I can understand the problem.  For some reason, Kerio 4.0 is not as stable as the older 2.15 version.  It is a very good firewall.

Outpost is a reliable firewall which I have tried in the past, but settled for Sygate instead.

Another good FW is Tiny Personal Firewall, however the learning curve is high.

Stick with Outpost if it is working for you and does not cause any conflict with AVAST.  It shouldn't.

Good luck,
techie

I used to use sygate myself, but I use proxies now to do other things so I was forced to switch to kerio.

I miss the stealth browsing feature of sygate though.

Kerio 4 to me and many others is just a poor attempt at what Outpost already has and until its act gets together those on 2.1.5 arent upgranding and new users with any sense will find their way like you did.

Are you guys talking about Outpost Free or Outpost Pro?

Anyway, as I said, the incompatibilities between avast 4.1 and KPF 4.x should be solved in the latest builds of KPF but I'd need you to actually confirm (or deny) this. Thanks.

If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.
