How to remove Secureline
« on: January 05, 2015, 09:25:41 PM »
 >:(

I've used Avast! antivirus (free version) for a few years and have been very happy with the program. I am not happy about the current install with the Secureline VPN.  My son updated his program and it was installed with the update. We could not connected and I noticed his PC had a different external IP address then all of the others on my network. I uninstalled Secureline VPN and rebooted but his PC is still using the same external IP and he can not connect to the internet even though it says he is connected. I uninstalled Avast! all to together with no change in access.  >:( I am not very happy about the current problem.  How do I uninstall Secureline and return it to normal access???  Is there an uninstall program that will change my network setting so it will not use VPN setting.  I'm lost on this one.

He uses Win7 64bit SP1 I believe.

Thank you in advance.

Normal way to uninstall secureline is:
control panel > software > avast > change

I have uninstalled the software (even used the avastclear program) but I believe it installed a tunnel adapter (Teredo) and it keeps using the TCP IP v6 instead of v4. I am limited on the internet and it lags my PC on startup. This is really pissing me off >:(

To my knowledge avast (secure line) is not using Teredo.

OK...so I looked at a second PC I have running the exact same setup except it did not get the secureline installed.  I displays the correct external IP address. Could it be secureline setup a separate firewall to manage internet connections? Could uninstalling the network card drivers and reinstalling correct the problem?

Secureline has nothing to do with a firewall.
It is a vpn service.

Hi Thor,

Teredo is definitely not part of SecureLine.  This is a tunneling technology for IPv4 to IPv6 transition.

It may be the cause of your issue so you can try to disable Teredo to see if that helps.  Here is some info on how to do that:

1) go to Start, then control panel
2) go to system and maintenance link
3) click "view" and select "show hidden devices"
4) expand the network adapters section
5) right click on "teredo tunneling" and then "disable"
6) right click on "6to4" adapter and then "disable"
7) right click on the network card you are on and then click "disable" and then "enable" to refresh

Please post back if this resolves your issue.

Best regards,
