Can someone tell me why, when installing new installation of avast/home  the vrdp function doesn't seem available?  No task bar icon, etc.  The splash screen says "not done yet."  Thanks for help!

Aare you always going to d doctor and not telling him any details?

I think you mean VRDB.
Did you merge it with the main icon?
What are the settings for the VRDB creation?
Did you had any other av installed? Or do you? If so, which one?
What OS?
What other security (related) software do you have installed?

You are just seeing a factual statement the VRDB hasn't been generated yet, so I suggest you run a manual Generate VRDB Now! then the splash screen will report the date that it was last generated.

This is likely to take a little time for the first time you run it, so I suggest you start it at a time when you can leave it for 15 minutes or so, go and have your evening meal or something.

I suggest a little time browsing the avast help file to get the best from avast!

Right click the blue ball near the clock and choose VRDB > Generate VRDB now
