Followed the instructions and it said windows is activated. There is no option to activate windows.

I will contact mocrosoft support and let you know what they are saying. I've had this computer for 3 years and now they say it isn't genuine so hopefully they will be able to do something. Thanks again EB.

Sorted, still don't know how it happened but microsoft support were great, they fixed it remotely after ages trying to find the right code. Kept asking me if I had the cd but it was pre loaded. In the end I looked at the bottom of the laptop and there it was, a sticker on the bottom with the key.   :)

After 2+ hours with microsoft, who said the problem was now fixed the pop up is back today.  >:(
