For example if you're using a Network Tweak for Firefox that can boost over 100 simulataneous connections for extreme page loading speed, but Web Shield might be blocking it  from using full potential... If i understand correctly ???
Yes, you seem to be right... WebShield could do it if I understood its behavior correctly  ::)

kamulko: it's not supported yet - i asked Tech to remove that key from the list, but it doesnt matter... it'll be supported for longhorn, when official beta will be released (not earlier, if standard shild works very well, it doesnt make sense why we should change that)...

What key?
From MailScanner, well, Vojtech and Lukas use it very often while posting here.
From WebShield, the key is not there, is it?  ;)

There is no upper limit on the number of open connections in WebShield. The only limit is from the operating system - and I think the number of concurrent connection on Win98 (yack) based systems is pretty low - something like 100  :P but I don't know it for sure.

100 is normal imo. XP SP2 can handle only 9 of them! Ofcourse if the OS is not patched :P

Do you mean this setting should be at the [WebScanner] section or are you referring to the one that already exists into [Common] section?

As far as I know XP SP2 limits number of new connection attempts per second to 10. Total number of open connections is not limited. Or is there any other limit in SP2? (9 ???) thanks. Lukas.

Ok,i think it's really 10 yeah. eMule uses limiter with value 9 so it doesn't use all of them... my mistake...

Under normal circumstances the connect operation is rather quick, it should not take more than 2 roundtrips, (depending on the network speed might be something like 200ms). So the limit (10 unfinishied connection attemps per second) should not be hit very often....I hope.

I believe PK was trying to say that the FilterMgr key in Common section is not yet supported (it doesn't do anything) - it's prepared for Longhorn (or Vista, or whatever the name of that thing will be).
There's no FilterMgr key in other sections (WebShield, or any other).
