Avast scheduled scan

I have my avast set up to scan every week at the same time. This week it came on but never scanned. I then tried to scan manually and it wouldn't. After restarting my computer, it finally scanned. Does anyone know why this would have happened? I ran a scan today and it seemed fine. Thanks for any input!

Is your bios time/date still correct ?
What os/sp?
What exact version of avast?
Any other security (related) software installed? Or previously?
