E-mail w/attachment fails
« on: September 18, 2005, 11:44:50 PM »
Although I have successfully sent attachments to my family earlier I have not been able to since installing avast! and I believe the error is anti-virus related.  I have de-selected the "Scan outbound mail" option but that does not solve the problem.  I can receive e-mail with attachments and all regular e-mail, inbound and outbound messages, without difficulty.  Where should I look next?  Any help is most gratefully received.

Chile, welcome.
Do you have Windows Xp?
Which are the attachment files extension?
Do you use a firewall? Which one?

Can you say what the error is that you are receiving?

What email program are you using?

I suspect it may be a timeout delay warning? if so can you try extending the timeout delay in your email program.
