These sort of re-targeting ads may backfire and annoy users.

Clearing your browser cache and your cookies is one way to stop re-targeting. But, keep in mind that you’ll need to do this over and over again, or on a regular basis.
I myself use the browser in sandboxy and regularly cleanse the sandbox and with CCleaner.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

I don't run my browser in a sandbox - but use DropMyRights for all internet facing programs.

For the most part I only allow session cookies that are removed on closing the browser - only a small number of sites do I allow persistent cookies. I use CookieMonster for firefox to manage cookies.

Hi DavidR,

So I added CookieMonster extension and will continue the regular browser cleansing.
