Alternative to the Off-Topic Forum
« on: September 20, 2005, 03:06:40 AM »
An alternative to the Off-Topic forum for those of you who miss the one that was just closed on this forum.
has been offered and can be reached HERE
The main Forum can be reached HERE
For all those wondering, it's not my Forum nor am I a moderator at that Forum. :) :)
This will leave the avast! Forum free to deal with avast! related matters.

I would greatly appreciate if this post was made a sticky for a while since I've had many requests as to "what do we do now" that the Off-Topic Forum is closed.

Thanks a lot, Bob, I'll certainly take a look next chance I get.

I think I was the one who'd originally suggested creating Off-Topic, and I had in mind a just-hang-out place as well as a place to discuss technical things unrelated to avast.  Similar to Wilders' Ten-Forward, basically.

I guess we can only guess whether Off-Topic would have survived if the socializing hadn't turned into social warfare, which I think we'll agree is what killed it.

Thanks for the other site Bob. I guess I should not have posted my responce this morning about Gene. I always knew he did not like the thought of you being a moderator.

That's good news about the second opinion.  I hope things work out.

My wife has a scan scheduled for next month, to see how her liver is doing.

Just hope all the problems with off topic here at avast is just not transfeered over to  MyVirusHelp Forum.

I have been a member at the above mentioned forum not long after it started.

No offence intended to anyone.

No. The team need to re-think this. Nothing will be as good as lists of bob's countless topics, sasha's graphics and members giving the opinions on here.  :(

Hi all,
thanks Bob for giving us an alternative Off topic forum.
I don't understand clearly why the Off topic here "must" be closed...never mind I spent on it wonderfull hours, sharing with great users...so I can only be sad when I see it's over, AND I HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU to the Avast! team for this beautifull oportunity they give me :)

Thanks again,

Petit lézard.
