Startup scan problem...
« on: September 19, 2005, 11:26:36 PM »
I run a startup scan, and because of lots of infected files, selected "move all" option.  The problem is:  After cleaning all infected files, the chest was empty on the avast simple interface, but my "moved" folder was full of files, and I can not place them back their original places...

Somebody has any help?

At boot time, the Chest is not loaded yet. Not enough drivers to do that.
Maybe in next versions, as Igor promissed us.

So, the moved folder should be full of these infected files.
You can add all files to Chest. Open Chest and add them. Alfter that, delete all files and empty your rececly bin.
Why do you need to place the files back if they are infected?

Well...  I can understand about few drivers.

The thing is that all infected files are necesary in order to start aplications.  This virus apeared in most of .exe's of my computer.

I can't find out the exact location for every file.

So, a reinstall seems to be my real solution far now.

In your case, a clean install should be done since you can't be sure what's infected.

I won't say it's the only solution but the best one as a deep infection requires format and start again.
Believe, you'll have less trouble this way.
Backup your data or, better, use a second partition in your disk for your data and let the programs on the first.
This way you can get your data back if something very bad occurs...
