Hello!

I just downloaded the 2015 Avast and bought myself a 2 year license of the internet security package.

However, on my Asus laptop, i have this AV installed, and it makes web browsing with my default browser Firefox, terrible. Pages wont load, and if they load, they load after 5 minutes.

Im running windows 8.1
Avast version: 2015.10.0.2208

Solution to my problem is not to disable plugins in my web browser, I simply had to disable the shields in Avast interface, and everything was okay again.

Any idea how i can prevent the issues? I would stop my subscription since it is less than 30 days ago i bought it, unless i know i can fix this.

Thanks for any help, and I'm looking at myself as an advanced user, so I should know what you are talking about.

Regards

Next month there will be a new version of avast released.
Let's see if the problems are solved.

Windows 8.1 64 bit

- I do have Malwarebytes Antimalware Pro installed, but is in no relation with the issue i had. (I did uninstall it to test if it helped.)

I've used Panda Security for 2 days (www.pandasecurity.com), but wasn't satisfied with the results i got, and i've always been a user of the avast software.

Huge edit!:

By disabling the HTTPS option under the Web shield, I'm now able to browse the internet a bit faster than before. Pages everywhere loads much faster, even without HTTPS.

Thanks to Asyn's Reply in a related topic.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)..!!
-> https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB11

Then:
1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

After restarting my computer, reinstalling the software and removing any remainders of third party softwares, Avast is still messing around with my internet speed / loading.

Current state:
- Firefox will not load any pages if the extension is installed (by Avast!), can't get any specific results regarding the  HTTPS scanning.
- Firefox will load SOME pages if the HTTPS option is ticked away / off under the web shield AND if the extension is disabled.
- Firefox will load all pages normally, if the extension is disabled and the HTTPS scanning is disabled.
- The results varies from each restart. Sometimes i end up with all pages loading just after booting into windows again, and after 1-2 minutes, it all hangs up again.

Edit: installed Chrome and IE9 and I found the same problem occuring in those browsers aswell, regardless if the plugin was present or not. HTTPS scanning was disabled, and there are issues loading the pages.
