Update notification does not appear

Hi all
I have installed avast free antivirus on my laptop 64 bit 6 gig ram
I do not have any notifications  about update although when I open the update section in the settings I see that the connection is established and with manual update it says already up to date , I wonder why it doesn't show me the message informing me that virus databases have been updated although in the notifications I see update notifications enabled to appear for 20 minuits as default
I tried eicar test file to test the malware notifications and it appears normally
also the scan notification (quick scan made by avast for the first time after installation ) appears normally
I have tried to repair it via setup and tried to re install , I also installed theinternet security edition but there was the same problem
anyone would suggest help ?
