it would not surprise me that when people stop submitting multiple tickets and do not change existings, the wait will be reduced by at least a day or 2 

As you picked up I'm sure, that's my point exactly 

Unfortunately, when one is in the "thick of things" and ticked off, it's hard to react rationally.

Here's another idea, wait until a program is at least good enough for beta before it's put up for sale, instead of using paying customers as testers.
