DO NOT USE AVAST!
« on: February 09, 2015, 03:43:32 PM »
Avast suddenly starting to use a lot of CPU (100%), and disabling it with task manager won't work. Even after stopping the shields it is at 60% CPU.
So i only created this account to add to the list of users having this problem. I will be uninstalling avast, and i will not be using it again. I will also never recommend it to anyone, despite it being free.

Problems like these need to be solved by avast and not have some avast team member respond and telling them to re-install and do a whole bunch of other things to get their messed up product to work!

Post regarding these issues have been around for years, and it's still not resolved.

Spamming the forum with this same post neither solves nor fixes anything.
If you have a problem and want it solved start your own topic as explained in your other post with the same
unhelpful information.

reason for this may not be the same in all cases ..... and we have found/solved many cases
your problem could have been found if you had attached diagnostic logs

Ofcourse it doesn't work. avast is protecting itself. If it wouldn't, malware could easily do the same leaving your system unprotected.

Have you already disabled the NG component?
Have you tried a repair?
Did you install version 2015.10.0.2209?
