avast not in system tray

i restarted my computer and avast is not in the system tray?i did a repair through add/remove but still does not appear?
win xp
avast home 4.6 latest updated

What other security programs are you using, did you run one prior to the restart?

Try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot, that should get it back.

been using the same security for a long time now(ewido,spybot,adaware,spywareblaster)will do a uninstall and install.

It was just a thought as previously SpySweeper (I think) had a false positive on ashDisp.exe and deleted the reference so no avast icon.

Glad the uninstall, boot, install resolved it, that usually works for a last resort option.
