HI avast team how is it going today.  I have a small problem with avast free R2 Beta2  I did update avast free by  updating over top of the previous beta.  Today when I turned on my computer I went into settings and update and the defs were still at 13-1  so then I pushed update and did a manual update and now the defs arre at 14-1.  I would just like to now is their anything that can be done to make avast free update the defs automatically.  I have not changed any settings that would make avast free not update automatically at all.

Thanks avast team

some information that might help
Windows 8.1
64 Bit
avast free

You don't say what your firewall is, as this can commonly block new updated processes ?

Update version now at 150214-2 - have you received that automatically yet ?

The win8.1 firewall, whilst that has outbound protection it isn't enabled by default, I believe (if anyone can conform this as I don't use win8.1), then it shouldn't be blocking avast.

I too updated to 2015.10.0.2210 R2 Beta2 from the avastUI program update, over 2015.10.0.2210 R2 Beta1 and didn't have this issue.

You could try an avast Repair and see if that resolves it.

Hi DavidR I did do a repair of avast and I  did go into allow an app through the windows Firewall while in their I did not find any avast in the firewall checked for private or public network so I did add avast to the windows Firewall and I did just start my computer and avast has updated to the defs for 14-2

Thanks everyone for your help and advice.  Appreciated all your help.
