avast! detected that the following program is running ...
« on: October 02, 2005, 07:03:54 PM »
Hello,
ERROR: avast! detected that the following program is running
Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Yes I already read some post with similar problem.
My problem is that I installed Kaspersky for Fileservers
but it does not have uninstall file. Than I just deleted all
Kaspersky files and some registry entries but there are still
some entries left in (Default Engine).  So now I do not like to mess up something. I guess this topic is more for Kasparsky support forum but I also think that Avast should be able to overwrite 'default' AV when installing?.
It is just matter of annoying message when starting up Windows
Thanks
Ned

Run this utility to remove all traces of Kaspersky from the registry:
http://www.ice-kav.com/downloads/util/KAV_Registry_Clean.zip
ICE is a US distributor for Kaspersky.

Thanks, that worked.

You might know the same stuff for Panda (Servers or Platinum)
because I can not do it manually.
Another very strange thing.
After installing this Panda software after connecting and disconnecting to
Net I regularly keep geting errors:
"Faulting application tcpsvcs.exe, version 5.2.3790.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000."

Sorry, I have zero knowledge about Panda other than after using the on-line scanner many AVs pick up false positive detections because it doesn't encrypt the virus signature files.

Not sure if Panda have a forum, if it is a known issue there might be a resolution there? However, if you uninstalled Panda does it resolve the problem?

Yes I did uninstalled but It's left over some and I can not
remove them because they are allways in use (I even tried secure mode to remove them), so that means
system still use them and also there are some entries in Registry.

Try Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) or Delete FXP (http://www.jrtwine.com/).
