Avast Antivirus Program for Server
« on: February 17, 2015, 07:05:15 AM »
While searching I found the poll results on
https://www.webhosting.uk.com/forums/general-discussion/8584-what-antivirus-software-do-you-use.html

and good rating for Avast Software. There is no doubt that Avast is good Antivirus product.

But I want to install Avast demo version on trial & error basis and then I will think to purchase it for my server. So please suggest me the good demo version for total security of my server.

Thank you.

You didn't mention what kind of server you mean and what you want to protect from what:

Hi Eddy,
Thanks for link. It's useful.

I want to protect my dedicated server against Trojans, malware and other suspicious threats.

Since it is a dedicated server (I take it you rent it), your host/provider should already being taking care of the protection.

Not only a hardware firewall, but av and other security things also.
I suggest you contact them and ask how they protect everything at the moment.
If you know that, you decide if you want to add additional protection yourself or that it is enough.
No need to spend money on a server av if there is no need for  ;)

I was dowmloading Avast for Free.  In the beginning it was working very well but after a time my computer was going slowly by all kind of Avast messages that said me that my computer was going slowly because of 13 reasons.  It was not possible to unscribe me from Avast because they asked me az password and I didn't remember me a password.   Some days ago I decided to pay 19.90 euro for an Avast-Grinfighter during 1 year.  I was paying it on the account BE 62 5490 0371 0161 with reference DR 375 6330 892 of the JP Morgan Chase Bank, AB Vista Brussels.
My payment was not confirmed.
I have now a lot problems. I can not start the grimfighter.
Is my Avast infected of hacked ?
