CPU use
« on: February 17, 2015, 01:44:29 PM »
I'm using Avast Free 2015 and it's recently started blocking the CPU by 100% use, even when doing nothing and I have to reboot to use anything. Any ideas?

How many more people are going to complain about this issue before something is done or even acknowledged.

Investigation is all part of the process and that is why questions are asked before making a suggestion one way or another.

Without information any suggestion would be pure speculation.

No problems at all for me with version 2015.10.0.2209 (or is it wrongly reports 2015.10.2.2210)
VPS : 150217-2

Look in taskmanager to see if there is a svchost running at 90+%
It there is use process explorer from Sysinternals (Microsoft), to see if dnsrslvr.dll is using it.
If it does, kill the process and the problem should be solved.

Eddy,

many thanks for your post, it's nice to know you are not having problems with 2209 - good for you. (where is this available ?).

Answer me this :- why should i have to mess about with task manager and Sysinternals when it is clearly a problem with AVAST.

I say again when is someone from AVAST going to acknowledge this problem!

EDIT:- found the beta, I'll give it a go.

As you can see, there isn't any access system usage.
