Serious problem with Scan
« on: February 27, 2015, 01:25:17 AM »
When I click Scan and Scan for Viruses, the only option available is Boot-time Scan.  I'm missing all of the other types of scans:  e.g. Quick Scan, etc.  Do I have to reinstall the product to get that back?

Also, if I right-click on a file or folder and then select Scan in the pop-up menu to do an On-demand Scan, an Avast box opens, but the box is completely blank and the on-demand Scan never starts.  How do I fix that?

This is with Avast 2015.10.0.2208 running on a Vista Home Premium OS.

Try a repair of avast:
Vista, win7 or later - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Uninstall/Change and select Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair.

If that doesn't resolve it then the next step would be a clean reinstall.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.4.6112 (build 24.4.9067.762) UI 1.0.803/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Updating to/performing a clean installation of the latest version should be done anyway.
