What Avast! users have to do to protect themselves from the anouncement in this report?

Any advice or direction?
Thanks

I've tested in an infected file.
I restore it from Chest to a floppy, rename it with non-ASCII characters.
avast! detects it like before.
Seems an non-updated info or just marketing in favor of Kaspersky and AVG
