Is Avast blocking my Skype login (Desktop and App)?

Since I have upgraded to the newest version of my subscription Avast (I pay I think about $50 or so per year) my Skype login does not work anymore, with the Microsoft account I always used, can still login with that account on BizSpark and the Microsoft Windows forum:

I am sorry this is in Dutch, cannot access the English forum from the Netherlands anymore, which I rather had. 

Is the Skype login a known problem?

This is the latest chatter I've heard about avast interacting with skype.

If it's a concern, you can usually disable avast for a while.
