« on: February 27, 2015, 04:53:17 PM »
Hello,
After Updating to newer builds AVAST is enabling Windows Defender. I have to disable it again.

Any ideas ?

Yes,

But is it not Windows that enables Defender after installing Avast! and before rebooting, because it sees no antivirus running ?

Just checked, everything seems to be fine here at least.

I think its Avast prob.

I keep Windows Defender disabled i.e when I try to open WD through start menu, I get a window that WD is disabled, click here to turn it ON.

I have checked with no AV or security system installed & restarting the system 2-3 times, WD was never enabled by Windows, instead I got notification from Action Center that WD was disabled.

2 days back I installed Avast Internet Security & system restart & WD was enabled.

It's avast problem because with AVG this didn't happen. I guess Avast should check the state of Windows Defender and recommend to disable it or even better, after the update to check if it is enabled and to disable it. Running 2 AV on the same time isn't recommend by any AV company.
