[solved] avast blocks access to assembly (no virus found)
« on: March 01, 2015, 10:38:32 PM »
hi,

avast is preventing access to an assembly. to be specific, it's the file C:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\ASCOM.Utilities\6.0.0.0__565de7938946fba7\ASCOM.Utilities.dll that is part of the ASCOM developer components package: http://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/PlatDevComponents.htm
neither avast nor windows defender report any virus when scanning C:\Windows\assembly\ . additionally, virustotal returns no virus found in the developer components package .
this problem occured for the first time today, i never had any problems like this in the past. disabling file system protection in avast solves the problem, reinstalling the developer components does not.

avast (free) program version: 2015.10.0.2208
virus data base version: 150301-1

any advice?
