avast! HTTPS breaks GitHub downloading
« on: March 03, 2015, 08:23:06 AM »
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases

Tried to install uBlock XPI and it just fails every single time. If I disable avast! HTTPS scanning, it works fine.

I'm using the latest 2015.10.2214 build...

Yes, it's a known bug but for some reason they haven't fixed it yet.

Same if you try to install Noscript from noscript.net (and other addons through a https connection which are not hosted on AMO) with Avast https scanning enabled.

This annoying bug exists since the first public beta of Avast 2015. I have reported it several times in the German forums section but nothing happened for about 4 months now. Why? It's ridiculous ...

I also get the same issue when trying to install non addons page extension "HTTPS Everywhere" from
https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere to Firefox.
