I 'm using the free version of Avast, When I have tried to access the update section. I'm always asked for my password, when I type it in, I get the response " wrong password ", I have changed my password but I get the same reply. Is this normal for the free version or is the something else going on or is this not an option with the free version...... Wondering

It should work if you type the correct password.

If you want to remove the password, a clean installation is needed.

After uninstalling from control panel, use this tool:
https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

Make sure you download and install the latest version:

Thank you for the follow up, needed that uninstaller, worked good, removed old ,downloaded new, good to go again. Thank you for your help and follow up..................Helped
