"Mark mail headers" option

What benefit does the "Mark Mail Headers" option in Avast for Mac provide? I am seeing a suggestion in the Apple forums (https://discussions.apple.com/message/27806028?ac_cid=tw123456#27806028) that this feature can prevent certain information (icon indicating whether a message has been replied to) to not properly sync across devices.

So, what benefit does this feature provide so I can make an informed decision on whether it should be enabled?

You can set filters in your Mail client based on the added headers
like "move all infected mails to a specific IMAP folder".
