Emergency Update delaying domain login?
« on: March 16, 2015, 02:07:00 PM »
Hello,

We have a subscription for Avast Endpoint Protection Suite Plus version 8.0.1603.

Problem: When our users log into their machines in the morning, windows will sit at the "Welcome" screen after the user types in their password. Longest I've waited is about 15min. This happens about once every week for some users in our office. They are running windows 7 in a domain environment.

The few times I've been able to log-in properly, I can see an emergency update process running before disappearing after 20seconds into logging in (I'm viewing this through task manager).

Question #1 - I'd just like to know if anyone has experienced emergency updates delaying the log-in process? This happens about once every week or come in spurts where it will happen 3 days straight. It's not every user experiencing this. Only a handful and its usually different people.

Question #2 - Is it possible to stop emergency updates completely so I can test this? I've deleted the entry from the task scheduler. Is there another location where I can disable this feature or is it built into avast.

Cheers,
David
