Full System Virus Scan hangs on wlcrasvc.exe at 0%

I wanted to virus scan because mouse became very unresponsive while hard disk made funny noises for long periods of time. First tried Windows 7 restores all failed, see other post.

Can you describe the noises the harddisk made?
Where they clicking sounds, like tik tik tik or something ?
