« on: August 24, 2008, 11:29:28 PM »
I have recently changed from AVG TO Avast on my desktop and my new laptop. It has installed fine on both machines but the VRDB generator does not seem to work on the laptop. It shows as generated on the interface on the desktop but it has not generated on the laptop. I have clicked the 'i' icon ball on the taskbar and clicked for it to generate but the ball animates and just keeps goingand nothing happens.Am i doing something wrong !

Yes, I am using Vista on the laptop. Have just read the link. Thank you for that. it does explain things. Presumably it going to take a while to generate on manual. Thought it would be quicker than that. Never mind. If its not going to be much use, I might forget it

It can take hours to be manually generated, depending on how much files do you have in the computer and how many executable files (the ones which information is stored).
On automatic, the operation resumes after automatically initiated and then you boot.
