Virtual CD-ROM drive from Microsoft

A nifty free tool from Microsoft which you may find useful.
Microsoft's Virtual CD-Rom Control Panel lets you mount an ISO file of a CD in one step,
without having to burn it to an actual, physical CD first.
You then have access to the full contents of the CD and can get at any or all of the data.

The Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel also lets you mount several images at once,
each with its own drive letter. I don't know what the upper limit is,
but I've had as many as four ISOs mounted at once, in addition to the two real CD drives
in my system. And, of course, because the ISO files actually reside on your hard drive,
you can access them at normal hard-drive speeds, which are usually much, much faster than CD drives.
Download it from:
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Virtual-CDROM-Control-Panel-Download-16468.html

winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe is also available from MySharedFiles
To install, simply extract the files into a Folder of your choice and run the program.
To uninstall, delete any open Virtual drives that you may have created and then simply
Delete the Folder you created for this application.
Enjoy :)

Virtual CD-ROM drive from Microsoft
I've tested it and I prefer MagicDisk (http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm)
Better interface, stability and it's a freeware, imho.

Avoid DAEMON Tools 4.08 (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5).
Some security programs relate as being adware!

MediaMaster : Your music, anywhere

Some of you may remember when MP3.com tried to allow users the ability to access to their music online. The music industry was none to excited about the idea, sued the pants off of mp3.com and it was shut down selling the actual domain name to CNET.
Apparently the makers of the Oboe Music Locker and now MediaMaster weren't paying attention. Both companies give users the ability to upload all of their music to the service and then listen to it on any Internet enabled device. Oboe even gives you the option of "Sideloading" other peoples music into your playlist.
MediaMaster is the newest kid on the block in online music players. The site does roughly the same thing everyone else did, but this time they're doing it with cover art and widgets. The site allows you to upload tracks directly off your computer's hard drive and then adds then album to your play list as the albums cover art. Clicking on the cover art will take you to a playlist of the entire album where you can select individual songs to play. Users are also able to create custom playlists from all their albums and create their own radio station that is playable on any program that can handle a .pls file.
The site is currently offering unlimited accounts. They don't allow users the ability to download music or listen to other people's music (like Oboe) so they also probably have a decent better chance at being around for a while.

Frankly, I do not trust in a company that does these things...
I'd rather use MagicDisc that is freeware (clean): http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm

I have many original pc games and i am always afraid my original discs will get scratched and i also hate switching those discs all the time that's why i create images of the discs and then use daemon tools to mount them.  However if you can tell me of an alternative that emulates the file/copy protection like Daemon Tools does i would be more than happy to make the switch. Until then i am staying with Daemon Tools. Just uncheck the Daemon Tools Search Bar when installing and you're looking at a clean install ;)

System Restore – NO Respect!
System Restore - Some people hate it however, there are times it comes in very handy.
Especially when you don't have anything else to fall back on.
There are however times you need to turn it off to clear out malicious content.

Google Browser Sync

(Click on any picture for a full view)

Keep your Firefox browsers synced across all your PCs with this extension.
Have you ever bookmarked an interesting Web site at work--only to forget the URL
when you're at your home PC? Google Browser Sync makes your Firefox browser settings
available on any two or more Firefox-equipped, Internet connected PC. In fact, this Firefox extension
can remember bookmarks, cookies, and passwords for those Web sites.

Whenever you open Firefox, Google Browser Sync asks you if you'd like to restore any pages from your last session.
The pages you select automatically open in their own tabs. The program takes a few minutes to set up,
and it takes a few seconds whenever you open Firefox.

Note: Google Browser Sync is free, but it does require a Google account. It also requires that you create
and remember a PIN that you'll use the first time you sync your bookmarks on another computer.
