unp***.mdmp files?
« on: October 11, 2005, 04:34:46 AM »
Just used Antivir as a backup to Avast and it found Empire virus in an unp****.mdmp file.

Ran it thru Jotti and Antivir was the only one to find it.

What are these *.mdmp files? Are they important? They are in the log folder so are they playing a role? OK to delete?

Thanks
Ian

They are dumps for avast errors.
They are not important themselves, you can delete them for sure.
But, you should check if these files reaper. That will show that avast! is having trouble (conflic, crash) with other application or driver in your computer.
The problem right now it the misanalyse of AntiVir. I do not remeber if it has or not an exclusion list...
Deleting that file will bring you two solutions at a price of one  :)

I have quiestion on same topic.

I have never seen unp***.mdmp files.
Are thay binary?

Is them is in "data\report\" folder what should I do with them?
What size can thay be? Or what is usual size for them?

Can avast send them through smtp to mail for analys and/or other log?
