Remote Access
« on: March 29, 2015, 08:51:43 AM »
Hello All,

I have been having a problem remotely accessing another computer via accessanywhere or the remote access option in the new update. I leave my office computer turned on with the power settings set to never fall asleep in hopes of being able to connect from my home but Avast always shows my computer as being offline?

Please advise if you can and thank you for your time.

Sounds like a firewall or router is blocking the ports that are needed to be open.
This could be on both systems.
If both systems have avast installed, you could try "avast remote assistance".

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried Remote Assistance and it rejected my ticket saying it was invalid.

Is there a list somewhere that would tell us which ports to unblock?

thanks again for your help.

If it is indeed a firewall that is blocking things, you should be able to find what is blocked and what port(s) in the log file.
