Video really bad - how do I tell if it's Avast?
« on: March 30, 2015, 09:39:59 PM »
Using the latest Avast 2015, Win 8.1, AT&T 3.0 Mbps fiber optic

Audio and video is choppy on Yahoo and ABC News, sometimes it doesn't even start

NoScript and AdBlock Plus are disabled

It seems like if I disable Avast, it improves

Any idea how I determine exactly what's going on?

Perform a clean installation of the latest avast version and see if the problem still is there:

I did a re-install.

I configured based on this page, before:

http://www.winhelp.us/configure-avast-free-antivirus.html

http://www.winhelp.us/configure-avast-free-antivirus/configure-avast-free-antivirus-page-2.html

I'm going to try leaving off some of the extra scanning suggested, and use the defaults.  Maybe that will help.

You can disable the shields one at a time to see if any of them is causing the issue.
