Windows Mail issue
« on: April 07, 2015, 11:30:10 PM »
My ISP recently changed mail servers. Along with that change came an issue with my wife's Vista computer. It has run quite well until the change running Windows Mail version 6.0.6000.16386, and Free version Avast. It was updated today to Avast version 2015.10.2.2215.

After the change last week the computer would not send or receive email through the Windows Mail client. She resolved to webmail, but that was unsatisfactory, so I did more work on the system today and came to the conclusion that Avast is what has caused her email program to stop working. If I go into the Avast control panel and disable the email scanner the email works fine.

Email seems like the biggest potential for virus and other unwanted intrusions, so I would like to get this resolved. Is there a known issue with Avast and Vista Windows Mail? Any way to fix this? As said with Avast disabled for email protection the email works fine.

Email account is POP3 at this time.
